A BIG thank you to all that came out on what would have been a typical powder day and skied like crazy in the name of charity. On Monday, March 28, 2016, as a community we raised just over $49,000 for the High Fives Foundation, making this the best yet Mothership Classic.
The day started out with breaks of sun but by mid-afternoon the sky at Squaw Valley opened up and dumped almost a foot up top. This made the laps on KT whilst on skinny skis a tad more challenging but you guys carried forth. Errol Kerr of the Jamaican Ski Team took home top honors with skiing the most laps, something like 47 laps...that's pretty bananas. While most folks that participate are skiers, this is an event for all and snowboarder Kristian More took home the award for most snowboard laps.
The retro gear was in full effect and with all the snow coming down some people were braving the elements in less than perfect outerwear, such as a three-piece plaid polyester suit and fur coats.
The goal for this event is to raise money for The High Fives foundation but we don't let that over-shadow the importance of having fun with friends and skiing the crap out of KT. So again, thank you all. Let's do it again next year, bigger and better with more FUN!
